Liquid Argon Gas
Liquid argon is a cryogenic liquid, defined as liquefied gases with an initial boiling point below -130degF (-90degC).
Liquid argon has a shallow boiling point of -303degF (-186.6degC), creating an extreme temperature difference between its product and the surrounding environment even during wintertime, necessitating special equipment designed to store and handle cryogenic liquids such as this one.
DSW provides high-quality liquid argon tanks or cylinders for cryogenic storage of liquid gases, including argon, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, oxygen, and helium.
The tanks range in capacity from 3,000 to > 100,000 litres and have standardized working pressures of 18, 22, or 36 bar, respectively.
The 20-foot ISO framework-type tank container applies to Intermodal transportation, including marine, highway, and railroad transportation. With its overall dimensions conforming to the ISO standards, the tank container has a rating for as many as nine high-stacking loads.

Delivery of Bulk Argon Supply
Bulk Delivery: In this mode, liquid argon is transported in sizeable cryogenic tanker trucks or trailers. These vehicles are designed to maintain the extremely low temperatures required to keep argon liquid.
Cylinder Delivery: In this mode, liquid argon is delivered in smaller quantities and stored in specially designed cylinders or dewars. These cylinders are typically made of steel and have high-quality insulation to minimize heat transfer and maintain the low temperatures required for liquid argon. The CGA 580 valve connection facilitates convenient integration with gas distribution systems.
Applications:
1. Welding & Metal Fabrication
Liquid argon is widely used as a shielding gas in welding processes like GMAW and TIG welding. It protects the weld pool from atmospheric contamination, resulting in high-quality welds.
2. Food and Beverage Industry:
Liquid argon finds application in the food industry for freezing and chilling food products. It helps maintain product quality, extends shelf life, and preserves nutritional value.
2. Aerospace & Aircraft
Argon is a versatile industrial gas used in welding applications, such as welding speciality alloys and producing light bulbs and lasers. As an inert gas, it can also provide an oxygen- and nitrogen-free environment for heat-treating processes.
3. Automotive & Transportation Equipment
Argon is combined with other gases to weld auto parts, frames, mufflers, and other automotive parts. It also provides an oxygen and nitrogen-free environment for annealing processes and is essential to airbags.
4. Metal Production
Used to maintain temperature and consistency of composition, argon prevents oxidation during processing. It also flushes out carbon monoxide and reduces chromium losses during the Argon-Oxygen Decarburization stainless steel refining process.
