CNG Gas Cylinder
Wouldn’t it be great if just one supplier provided all your needs, from quality, superior paint finish, sustainable certifications, and innovation through timely delivery at an excellent value? Customer service? Quality?
DSW is the only CNG gas cylinder supplier that meets every criterion for excellence.
DSW’s CNG cylinders provide an unmatched range of diameters from 140 mm to 660 mm, capacities (10 to 700 litres), and working pressures up to 700 bar—perfect for natural gas vehicles, filling stations, and trailers.
Compressed gas cylinders are regularly used in science and engineering buildings, machine shops, retail stores, and campus dining.
Researchers, staff, and contractors store and use various compressed gases for different reasons.
Type 1 CNG cylinder Size Chart
compressed natural gas
CNG production requires long and complex steps. In the end, CNG remains gaseous, with essential substances such as methane, nitrogen, CO2, propane, and ethane still contained.
CNG offers superior heating values compared to petrol; where 10 litres of petrol would take a car 100 km, only 6-7 litres of CNG would be required.
CNG Gas Cylinders, which can store natural gas under pressure 20MPa or 25MPa, are made of 4130X
seamless steel tube with ISO9809-1/ISO9809-3/EN/DOT approval.
which are explosive pressure vessels containing flammable and explosive gases.
The storage pressure for automotive cylinders is 20 MPa.
CNG TANKS Type
There are four categories available in CNG gas cylinders.
The Type 1 category is seamless alloy steel cylinders (CNG-1).
Type 2 CNG-2 is a composite gas cylinder with steel or aluminum lining and a barrel reinforced
with long fibres impregnated with “hoop winding” resin.
The Type 3 category is composite gas cylinders with aluminum liner plus carbon fiber fully
wound and glass fibre ring wound reinforcement (CNG-3).
The fourth category is the composite gas cylinder with plastic liner plus carbon fiber
full winding and glass fibre ring winding reinforcement (CNG-4).
Each of these compressed gas cylinders has advantages and disadvantages, and it depends.
The main cylinders used worldwide are steel cylinders, generally made from high-quality
chromium-molybdenum steel, and the ISO 11439 and ECE R110 standards can be meet
the requirements of most countries.
CNG pressure in bar
Worldwide, most vehicle cylinders are rated to handle a working pressure of 3,000 psi (200 bar);
However, in the US, the standard pressure rating for vehicle cylinders is 3,600 psi (250 bar).
How much gas is in a CNG cylinder?
A 12 kg cylinder contains 60 litres of water; 5 litres equals one kilogram; therefore, its maximum CNG load capacity is 10 kg, depending on the pressure in its gas station.
